Walk through the heart of Gurung country in comfort. The 6 Days Luxury Annapurna Gurung Village Trek is a gentle lodge-to-lodge journey from Pokhara through the terraced hills below the Annapurna range, staying every night in the lodges of Mountain Lodges of Nepal – the top properties on the trail, with attached bathrooms, hot showers, heated beds and freshly cooked meals.
From the riverside village of Birethanti you climb to Ghandruk, one of the most beautiful Gurung villages in Nepal, with stone-paved lanes, slate-roofed houses and a close-up view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and the sacred peak of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Cross the Modi Khola to Landruk, continue through forest and farmland to Majgaon, and follow the ridge via Pothana and Australian Camp to Dhampus, famous for its sunrise over the Annapurnas, before returning to Pokhara.
The highest point is only about 2,000 m, the walking days are 3–6 hours, and there is time every afternoon to relax, meet local families, visit a Gurung museum or simply enjoy the mountain views. It is an ideal first trek, a perfect add-on to a Nepal tour, and a lovely trip for families and older travellers who want a real Himalayan experience without high altitude.

Best time to trek
October and November bring clear skies and comfortable days after the monsoon. Late March to late April is also lovely, with rhododendrons in flower. December to February is good for winter trekking – sunny days, cold mornings and quiet trails. May to September is the monsoon, with rain and clouds that often hide the mountains.
