Delhi is a city of many faiths, and its places of worship are some of the most beautiful and peaceful corners of the capital. The Delhi Temples & Spiritual Day Tour takes you to five very different sacred places in one easy day – ideal for pilgrims, families and spiritual travellers, including groups from Nepal.
Begin at the golden-domed Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the most important Sikh shrine in Delhi, with its holy pool (sarovar) and the langar kitchen that serves free meals to thousands of people every day. Next, visit the Birla Mandir (Laxmi Narayan Temple), built in 1939 and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi, and the white, lotus-shaped Bahá’í Lotus Temple, a quiet house of prayer open to all religions.
In the afternoon, visit the ISKCON temple of Sri Krishna at East of Kailash, famous for its devotional music and art, and finally the vast pink sandstone and marble Swaminarayan Akshardham, one of the largest Hindu temple complexes in the world. Stay for its evening water and light show before returning to your hotel. A private air-conditioned car with driver and a guide are included.
