The 9 Days Nepal Honeymoon Tour (8 nights / 9 days) is a romantic, unhurried journey for couples – especially newly-wed couples from India – through the best of Nepal: two nights in Kathmandu, two in the jungle of Chitwan, two by the lake in Pokhara, a night in the Gurung mountain village of Ghandruk and a final night at Nagarkot facing the Himalaya. In Kathmandu you take darshan at Pashupatinath, one of the holiest Shiva temples for Hindus, walk around the great stupa of Boudhanath and explore Kathmandu Durbar Square and hilltop Swayambhunath. A scenic drive brings you to Chitwan National Park, where you look for one-horned rhinos and perhaps a Bengal tiger on a jeep safari, glide down the Rapti River in a dugout canoe and watch a Tharu cultural dance at sunset.

In Pokhara you row across Phewa Lake to the island temple of Tal Barahi, then ride a jeep into the hills to Ghandruk (1,940 m), a stone-built Gurung village with close views of Annapurna South and the sacred Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Back in Pokhara you visit Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave and the World Peace Pagoda and watch sunrise over the Annapurnas from Sarangkot. A short flight returns you to Kathmandu for medieval Bhaktapur and a last romantic sunset and sunrise at Nagarkot.

Notes for this tour

Indian couples: Indian citizens do not need a visa for Nepal; carry a valid passport or Voter ID card (both of you). PAN cards, driving licences and Aadhaar are not accepted as travel documents. Indian rupees are widely accepted (1 INR = 1.60 NPR, fixed rate); carry smaller notes, and check current Nepal Rastra Bank limits for ₹500 notes.
Food: vegetarian and Jain meals are easy to find in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan; Indian restaurants are common. Please tell us any dietary needs in advance.
Guide: English- or Hindi-speaking guides are available for the sightseeing tours.
Mountain views and flights: Himalayan views and domestic flights depend on the weather. October–December and February–April usually offer the clearest skies; in the monsoon (June–September) clouds often hide the peaks. If a flight is cancelled we transfer you by road or adjust the programme.
Temple etiquette: leather items are not allowed inside Pashupatinath; dress modestly at temples and remove shoes where asked. Non-Hindus cannot enter the main courtyard of Pashupatinath.
Road travel: the drives Kathmandu–Chitwan and Chitwan–Pokhara take about 5–6 hours on winding highways with lunch stops. The jeep road to Ghandruk is rough in places but scenic.
Chitwan: wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed; rhinos are seen on most safaris, tigers only rarely.
Flexibility: the order of sightseeing may change to suit festivals, temple timings or flight schedules, without missing any included visit.

9 days. It starts in Kathmandu and ends there. Overnight stops: Kathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara, Ghandruk, Nagarkot. The day-by-day itinerary above shows travel times, places visited and meals for each day.

October to early December and February to April are the best months, with clear mountain views and pleasant weather – ideal after the November–February wedding season. December and January are cold in the mornings but sunny. The monsoon (June to September) is green and less busy, but clouds often hide the mountains.

The grade is easy, with a maximum altitude of about 2,175 m. It is suitable for most travellers, including families with children and seniors; walking is mostly short and on paved paths or easy trails.

No visa is needed for Indian citizens. Each of you needs a valid Indian passport or Voter ID card (Election Commission card) to enter Nepal and to board domestic flights. Aadhaar, PAN cards and driving licences are not accepted.

Yes. Indian rupees are accepted in most hotels, shops and restaurants at the fixed rate of 1 INR = 1.60 NPR, and you can also pay the tour cost to us in INR. Carry smaller denominations; rules on ₹500 notes can change, so please check the current Nepal Rastra Bank limit before travel. Yes. Vegetarian food is available everywhere, and Jain meals (no onion or garlic) can be arranged in most hotels with advance notice. Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan also have many Indian restaurants.

One-horned rhinoceros, spotted and sambar deer, wild boar, monkeys, gharial and mugger crocodiles and a huge variety of birds (more than 540 species) are seen on most visits. Royal Bengal tigers, leopards and sloth bears live in the park too, but sightings are a matter of luck. February to May, when the tall grass is cut, usually gives the best sightings.

Wear light, neutral-coloured clothing (green, brown, khaki), a long-sleeved shirt and long trousers, closed shoes and a hat. Bring insect repellent, sunscreen and binoculars. Bright colours, perfume and noise disturb the animals.

Yes. Pokhara is Nepal's adventure capital – tandem paragliding from Sarangkot, the zip-flyer, ultralight flights, bungee jumping, the Annapurna cable car and boating can all be added to your free time. Tell us in advance and we will reserve the best time slot.
