The Chitwan National Park, Nepal’s first national park lies at the foot of the Mahabharat range in the inner Terai lowlands of Chitwan. Covering an area of 932 sq. km this is the most well preserved conservation area in all of Asia.

The park is rich in flora and fauna and has a fascinating variety of mammals and birds. The park preserves some of the last habitats for endangered species like the greater one-horned rhinoceros and the Royal Bengal tiger.

Day 01Pick up from Meghouli or Bharatpur Airport
Meet and greet at Bharatpur airport and drive to Hotel. Arrive at Barahi Jungle Lodge via Chaubiskothi, which is 32 K.M. from the main highway in Bharatpur. Upon arrival, welcome drink is served and there will be a short briefing on the program and our facilities, rooms will be assigned.

At 1:00 O’clock Lunch is served at Banyan Café or by the Pool.
3.30 PM: Boat safari (Afternoon) with Sundowner at confluence point
Floating downstream the Rapti River, towards the western boundary of the park formed by Himalayan Narayani, boat safari will be arranged for evening time offering our unique sundowner experience at the confluence point. Duration – approx. 2: 00 Hours

7:00 PM: Slide presentation. One of our jungle experts will introduce background data and history of the Chitwan National Park as well as some other topics relating to wildlife. Your questions are most welcome. 8.00 PM: Dinner at Banyan Café or by the pool

Day 02Full Day Jungle Activities
6:30 AM- Jeep Safari with Breakfast in the jungle: Duration – Approx 4-5 Hours: Proceed for the Jeep Safari crossing the Rapti River by Patela Boat to start with from Bhimle army check post. There are two choices of routes available, which our naturalists pick upon their experience on current sightings and animal movement.
Route 1: Bhimle post – Sukhibhar post towards Kasara (park headquarter)
Route 2: Bhimle post – Reu River- Surung Khola
Route 3: Bhimle Post – Reu River- towards Khoria Muhan Post

Breakfast will be served in between the safari in a scenic and safe spot chosen by the Naturalist. (Note: Jeep Safari is prohibited during monsoon season by the park authorities from June-September and in some season it can prolong till October)

After Safari leisure time to relax by the pool or use of Spa Facilities till the lunch time.

Dining

Culinary experience at Barahi is an appeasement in itself. The lodge offers authentic Nepalese Cuisine enhanced with organically grown healthy food, topped with Himalayan herbs and homemade pickle. Delectable Continental, Indian, Thai and Chinese too form a part of our menu. At some distance from the cottages, our Tiger’s Den Bar environs in such a way that the motley nature can be felt closely and deeply. Our bar is well-equipped to serve aperitif-spirits, wines and liqueurs.

The evenings are filled with lively performances which brings the forest alive. Colorfully dressed Tharu girls and boys exhibit their culture through dance and music performances forming a rhythm that would definitely sway you with it. We also offer juggling and flaming shows on special requests.

Wear clothing in muted colors
Deer raise their tails to expose the bright white underside as a warning call – so leave those crisp white shirts at home! Rhinos do not respond kindly to bright colors, such as white and red. Please do not wear these colors so you do not provoke a rhino to charge at you

Blending into the jungle colors helps camouflage you, so you can spot animals more easily

Recommended colors: Olive green, Sand, Brown, Black.

Keep quiet
Most animals in the jungle have excellent hearing, so you might scare them away without realising it if you talk

Animals are used to the lumbering sounds of the elephant and the drone of the LandRover, but respond to our speech with alarm.

If you must converse, do so in a lowered voice

Be alert
Most wild animals blend excellently into their surroundings, so they are nearly invisible to us. The key to successfully spotting wildlife is to watch out for movement – our eyes are naturally trained for that, you just need to practice it! Also keep your ears tuned for odd rustlings, often it is an animal quietly slipping away!

Wear a pair of comfortable shoes that cover your feet completely, such as walking shoes or sneakers. Leave your flipflops and sandals for lounging around the camp instead.
Wear socks with your shoes, preferably those that are higher than ankle-length.
Sprinkle some salt just inside and around the edge of your socks
Cover exposed skin
Wear pants and long-sleeved shirts
Keep a hat on
Insect repellent
If the weather is hot, excess clothing might be uncomfortable. In this case, apply insect repellent liberally on all exposed skin.
If you end up with ticks or leeches on you anyway
DO NOT attempt to pull it off! You might end up with either a tick head embedded in your skin, or a leech stuck to your finger!
Apply a concentrated salt solution/camphor medication to the area until the insect drops off
Remember that these insects only take a miniscule amount of your blood, so you could just let them drop off naturally.
Apply a topical analgesic (if you have one) to the affected area to treat itching.

21 days-30 days- 40% retention
No show charge: No Shows will be charged the full amount as per the booking made for the number of total nights.
