White Water Rafting is a special venture in the river on inflatable rubber boat. A river trip is usually an unusual adventure. The most thrilling, exciting and exotic river trips in Nepal can be arranged throughout the year. You have to choose river trips lasting 1 to 12 days on some of the best and exciting rivers in Nepal. These wild-rivers, some of them rising from the hidden plateau of Tibet and some of them from the high Himalayan Mountains of Nepal cut deep down the rugged sloppy mid-hills of Nepal and then finally meander across the Indian plains to join the holy waters of the river Ganga.

In a country like Nepal, a river-trip is one of the best noble gateways to explore a typical cross section of the country's natural as well as ethno cultural heritage. Whether it's just the two of you for a romantic escape or perhaps a group of friends outing, this action packed jaunt to the foothills will surely become a favorite outing sport of yours for many years to come. The river flows and passes through some of the most beautiful canyons, ethnic villages and landscapes of Nepal. The trips offer full spectrum of wilderness river experiences from the gently flowing stretches to the Loud roaring wild and wet rapids. All the guides are highly trained and qualified in the aquatic sport for white water river rafting.

Selecting Rivers
When selecting your rafting trip, you should know what to expect out of it. River journeys range from short one-day excursions to 12-day expeditions. Each one is incredibly unique and offers an experience of a lifetime, and the excitement does not depend on the length of the river trip. The table below serves a general guideline for journeys on the most popular rivers in Nepal. Trisuli is the river, where you can plan your rafting trip any time, even in the last moment when you are in Kathmandu, Chitwan or in Pokhara.

About Safety
Most people's image of white water rafting is one portrayed by films and the media and almost everyone who has not done it imagines it as a horrendously dangerous sport. However, the truth is reverse. Accidents, even minor ones are rare and rafting has a much safer accident record than say driving, cycling, or probably walking. This is because when you are on the river you are in relatively protected vehicle - a nice big bouncy rubber raft directed by an experienced river guide will never get out of the control. Aside from formal qualifications in Swift-water Rescue and Wilderness, First Aid Training, almost all Nepalese river guides have devoted much of their lives to learning and running whitewater.

Kali Gandaki River
A medium length river, the Kali Gandaki offers spectacular views of mountains and flows by charming little villages with no motor roads in sight. With views of eight-thousand meter peaks and challenges of rousing rapids, this is indeed a unique experience for rafters. With visits to temples and villages, this trip is a cultural one as will, and the technical nature of the rapids ensures a busy time paddling.

Rapids : Small Brother, Big Brother and Refund.

The adventure begins with a trip down to Pokhara ( either a half-hour plane ride or a five-hour drive ) where the first day is spent relaxing. The put-in point which is 40km away is reached after a 2 1/2 hour drive the next day. The rafters are greeted by a series of rapids (Class III and Class IV) and can also enjoy some bird watching. Further down, the rapids decrease in frequency and the valley widens slowing down the flow. Interestingly, waterfalls with stalactite formations are seen along the way. Normally, this is a three-day rafting trip.

Short Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Baglung by private bus and have a lunch. After lunch it is straight ino the grade 4 rapid. We camp at one of nature's five star sites with mind blowing views and dancing waterfalls.
Day 02: Today is continuous grade 3 to 4 world-class white water with rapids like Rafter's Refund and Oar Breaker. Wave trains and holes abound early in the day so watch our it you don't want to flip ! Adrenalin junkies knock yourself out but don't forget to keep glancing back upstream to catch views of the amazing Annapurnas. Once camped, the village of Seti Beni is just a short walk upstream and guarantees to delight with its stone flagged lanes and curious youngsters skylarking.
Day 03: As we continue downstream, the river cliffs above us and we enter a somber canyon glistening with wet black rocks. You experience what can only be seen from the water, so drink it all in as we drift towards our take out point.

Miyamoto report on Annapurna Nepal Now, latest facts
Miyamoto report on Annapurna Nepal Now, latest facts Location: Annapurna | Type: Adventure, Nature Lovers | Tags:NepalNOW, Trek, annapurna, nepal, nepal now The Annapurna region, the most popular tourism destinations of the country, is located in the Himalayas in north-central Nepal. Following the powerful earthquakes of April and May 2015, the extent and severity of earthquake-related structural damage and geologic hazard were widely believed to be limited, but remained unknown. With funding from SAMARTH-NMDP and on behalf of the government of Nepal through the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, an assessment team was dispatched from June 25 to July 2, 2015 to this region to observe and record seismic damages that occurred along the main trekking routes and select villages as a result of the earthquakes. The team was comprised of a structural engineer and an engineering geologist, supported by a professional mountain guide and local conservation officer familiar with the region. The objective of the rapid reconnaissance of the region was to a) develop a baseline understanding of the extent of earthquake-related damage, b) advise on the overall trekking safety of the region’s routes and c) provide recommendations on repairs or risk mitigation that will inform tourism recovery and commercial readiness strategies that are currently being developed by the government, its international development partners, and Nepal’s tourism industry at large. The aim of these efforts is to promote tourism back to Nepal which will support the nation’s economic recovery. The findings of the structural and geotechnical rapid assessment of the region are summarized in this report.
