The Kathmandu Valley contains three royal cities - Kathmandu; Patan and Bhaktapur. Kirtipur and Thimi are two other smaller municipalities. There are seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Valley.

The Valley was once a lake. According to legend, a Buddhist saint named Manjushree drained out the waters by slashing a passage through the hills and peopled it with his followers. Over the millenniums, a refined urban civilization emerged, built on a unique synthesis of Hinduism and Buddhism. Dynasties came and went. Commerce and crafts flourished. Its religious Newar inhabitants built fabulous cities and artistic temples that are unmatched in the Himalayan region.

CHITAWAN NATIONAL PARK
(World Heritage Site)

For exclusive jungle safari. It is 178 km and takes 3-4 hour. Upon arrival meet by the naturalist and transfer to the resort. The manager will brief the guests about the activities. In the late afternoon, the guests will be taken for a jungle safari on elephant back so that they can penetrate deep into the jungle for viewing and photographing wildlife or a jungle walk is organized to experience the abundant bird life and the flora & founa for the park. If you are lucky, you may see the elusive Royal Bengal tiger both on nature walk as well as on elephant safari. A hearty meal of continental or Nepalese cuisine will be served in the evening around the campfire.
Early morning guests will be mounted on Elephant back and taken for a Jungle foa a 2-3 hours penetrating through dense grassland to view wildlife. This grass commonly known as Elephant grass is dense and grows to a height od 18-20 ft.. It is the favoriote habitat of the rhinoceros and other mammals. After breakfast , the guests are taken to our elephant stables where the senior naturalists will give a talk about the habitates of the elephant. Here one may witness the rare scene of the elephant at bath.Afternoon free to relax. Evening dinner served around the camp fire followed by Tharu stick dance.

POKHARA ( WEST OF KTM 200 KM )

Pokhara is famous for a clean water lakes, Seti river with subline natural beauty and Himalayan views. It is the gateway to Nepal’s West. Many of Nepal’s most diverse and interesting treks and rafting experiences are on the doorstep of pokhara. From here Annapurna Mustang, Manaslu, Chitwan, Dolpa, Jumla, Humla the holy mountains of mt Kailash, lumbini, Tansen, and Gorkha are all within easy reach. Pokhara is the placed to relax in Nepal. The famous places of pokhara are phewa Tal, Rupa Tal, Begnas tal, Patale Chhango, Davids falls, Mahendra Cave, Seti River, Ram ghat, Bindhyabasini Temple, Buddhist Monastery Mahendra Pul The ACAP Natural History Museum, Lumle, chandrakhot, Kaskikhot, Dampus, Sarankot, Tulakot, Kahun Danda and world peace Pagada. Most of the tourist visit pokhara every year. It is busy tourist area. Oct – March is a best time to visit here.

Mountain views. Clearly the most stunning of Pokhara's sights is the spectacular panorama of the Annapurna range which forms its backdrop. The Annapurna massif includes Annapurna I to IV and Annapur-na South. Although the highest among them is Annapurna I (8,091 m), it is Machhapuchhre (6,977 m) which dominates all others in this area.

Phewa Lake, the second largest lake in the Kingdom roughly measuring 1.5 by 4 km, is the center of all attractions in Pokhara. It is the largest and most enchanting of the three lakes that add to the resplendence of the resort town. The eastern shore, popularly known as Lakeside or Baidam, is the favorite home base for travellers and is where most of the hotels, restaurants and handicraft shops are located.

Myanmar Airways to connect Yangon–Kolkata from Dec 1
Starting from December 1, Myanmar Airways International will operate two times weekly service between Yangon and Kolkata on Airbus A320 and A319 aircraft. These flights between the two destinations will be operated on Thursdays and Sundays. MAI currently flies between Yangon and Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Gaya, Guangzhou, and between Mandalay and Bangkok. Miyamoto report on Annapurna Nepal Now, latest facts Location: Annapurna | Type: Adventure, Nature Lovers | Tags:NepalNOW, Trek, annapurna, nepal, nepal now The Annapurna region, the most popular tourism destinations of the country, is located in the Himalayas in north-central Nepal. Following the powerful earthquakes of April and May 2015, the extent and severity of earthquake-related structural damage and geologic hazard were widely believed to be limited, but remained unknown. With funding from SAMARTH-NMDP and on behalf of the government of Nepal through the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, an assessment team was dispatched from June 25 to July 2, 2015 to this region to observe and record seismic damages that occurred along the main trekking routes and select villages as a result of the earthquakes. The team was comprised of a structural engineer and an engineering geologist, supported by a professional mountain guide and local conservation officer familiar with the region. The objective of the rapid reconnaissance of the region was to a) develop a baseline understanding of the extent of earthquake-related damage, b) advise on the overall trekking safety of the region’s routes and c) provide recommendations on repairs or risk mitigation that will inform tourism recovery and commercial readiness strategies that are currently being developed by the government, its international development partners, and Nepal’s tourism industry at large. The aim of these efforts is to promote tourism back to Nepal which will support the nation’s economic recovery. The findings of the structural and geotechnical rapid assessment of the region are summarized in this report.
